Planning and Zoning Division

 

 

The Planning and Zoning Division serves as a liaison between the public and City government in the subject areas listed below.  Our customers include residents, developers, property owners, businesses, visitors, City Boards and Commissions, and others who rely on our services.   Department staff respond to questions from homeowners, review development proposals, and provide technical assistance and expertise to the Mt. Juliet Regional Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, and Board of Commissioners.  Technical assistance includes reviewing and processing development applications for conformance with City standards and regulations.   

The mission of the department is to facilitate a high quality of life for Mt. Juliet citizens, to support viable economic development, and promote orderly, well planned growth in Mt. Juliet. The department implements the Future Land Use Plan and other adopted plans of the City.  In this regard, we seek to assist the City in evaluating and reviewing development proposals for consistency with these plans and development regulations.  The Planning and Zoning Division provides the following services and reviews:

e) Conditional Use Permits

f) Variances

 

g) Home Occupation Permits

h) Accessory Buildings & Fences
