Jamie Luffman
Fire Chief Jamie Luffman

Jamie Luffman is closing in on 25 years in the fire service, spending 17 years with the DuPont Co. in Industrial Fire, 14 years with Wilson Co. EMA in Municipal Fire, 11 years as a Nurse Tech at Summit Emergency Department and various medical missions for International Medical Alliance of Tennessee culminating to the past three years with the Fire Dept. for the City of Mt. Juliet. He has held the rank of Firefighter, AEMT, Lieutenant, Captain, Commander, Assistant Chief and now Chief. He is a past instructor for Firefighter Safety & Survival and Healthcare Provider BLS/CPR/AED. Chief Luffman has received fire service education from TFACA, TSB Fire Academy, and Volunteer State Community College. Chief Luffman also serves Mt Juliet as the Fire Marshal and is an Assistant to the Commissioner, State of TN Dept. of Commerce& Insurance State Fire Marshal’s Office. 

Chief Luffman is a lifelong resident of Mt. Juliet. He is a member of the MJ Help Center Board of Directors and has taught Sunday School at West Hills Baptist Church for 15 years. He is married to his wife, Jill, and they have a son, Josh.

Chris Allen
Deputy Fire Chief Chris Allen (part-time)

Chris Allen has over thirty three years of fire service experience, entering the fire service in 1985 as an Explorer in Knox County, TN. He has served as a Fire / EMS dispatcher, full-time and volunteer firefighter, full-time and volunteer lieutenant, full-time Fire Department Training Program Manager, full-time Fire / Arson Investigator and volunteer Captain. He has instructed fire training programs for industrial fire brigades around the world. 

Chief Allen has previously served as a member of several departments, including: Rural / Metro Fire Department in Knoxville, TN; Knox County Fire Bureau; Liberty Township Fire Department in Chesterton, IN; and Perry-Clear Creek Fire Department in Bloomington, IN. After returning to Tennessee, he was part of the original WEMA / Mt. Juliet volunteer program. 

Chief Allen manages FDMJ's daily operations and also leads the FDMJ's Explorer Program. Chief Allen also serves a a Mutual Aid Coordinator for Middle Tennessee. He is employed full-time as a federal law enforcement supervisory special agent and has sixteen years of federal law enforcement experience. 

Chief Allen has a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Organizational Science from Tusculum College and a Master's of Science in Forensic Studies from Stevenson University. He is a certified Fire Officer, certified Fire Department Safety Officer, and a certified Fire Service Instructor. 

Chief Allen is an active member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, the Tennessee Fire Chief Association, the Middle Tennessee Fire Chief's Association, and the Mt. Juliet Noon Rotary Club.    

Chief Allen resides in Mt. Juliet, is married to his wife Amy, and has three children, Claire, Lauren, and Grant.

Chief Donovan
Assistant Chief of Training and Volunteers Shawn Donovan (part-time)

Shawn Donovan is a 17 year veteran of the fire service, staring in 1999 as Paid-on- Call Firefighter with the Orion Township Fire Department in Lake Orion, Michigan. He has served in various capacities in his lengthy career, holding positions including Firefighter, Firefighter-Paramedic, Engineer-Paramedic, Lieutenant-Paramedic, Captain, Division Chief, and Assistant Chief, with four Tennessee departments, including the Brentwood Fire and Rescue Department, Franklin Fire Department, Wilson Emergency Management Agency, and the Fire Department of Mt. Juliet.

Chief Donovan is a founding member of the Fire Department of Mt. Juliet, starting as Division Chief of our Volunteer Division. He was also the original organizer of the Wilson Emergency Management/Mt. Juliet Joint Volunteer Fire Program that brought much needed additional fire protection to Mt. Juliet in 2008.     

Chief Donovan currently manages both the Training Program and the Volunteer Division at the Fire Department of Mt. Juliet. In addition to his part time position at the FDMJ, Chief Donovan also serves as a Career Lieutenant-Paramedic with the Franklin Fire Department.   

Chief Donovan holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Fire Science from Macomb Community College and currently completing his Bachelor Degree in Fire Administration from Eastern Kentucky University. Chief Donovan is a Certified Fire Officer IV, Fire Instructor I, Fire Safety Officer, and a Paramedic. Chief Donovan is also an active member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, Tennessee Fire Chief Association, International Association of Fire Firefighters Local 3758, International Society of Fire Service Instructors, and a Charter Member of the Middle Tennessee Chapter of the Fraternal Order of Leatherheads Society.  .   

Chief Donovan is a native of Clinton Township, Michigan who currently resides in Mt. Juliet, with his wife Jennifer, and his two children, Andy and Liam.
